Are we required to open Sundays?
There is no “requirement” to open on Sunday. This is a choice every location must make, and it does impact a significant number of reservations in the high season. Factors to consider are:
- The weekend (Saturday/Sunday) is the busiest time for rentals. Especially local rentals.
- Many (local as well as overseas) renters will “expect” to at least be able to drop off on Sunday.
Currently different locations handle this in different ways. You can for example:
- Open on Sunday for pick up and drop off (during the high season)
- Open one-hour late afternoon for drop offs
Sundays by pre-appointment only - Give customers a “free day” “weekend special” to drop off on Monday
(Works for some overseas customers but locals tend to want to drop off after their work on Monday)
Your location profile in the system must say either not open or open limited hours. The system doesn’t actually provide for “by appointment only”.
If your profile is not open at all on Sunday it will block all reservation attempts to pick up or drop off on Sunday. This will cost you reservations.
Again, the choice is entirely yours.
